Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers

Sorry for the late post, but we need help with Adopt a Hway cleanup for Jonesboro Rd next Saturday, March 13th at 7am. Like we did last year, we will do Dunkin Donuts and coffee/tea for early risers but need help getting the winter garbage cleaned up for our community service. We would meet at the store and than depart to the center point down near Daily Mill and Jonesboro Rd. Call me with questions or tap it out here.

POST back and let me know who's available and willing to help out.

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/14/2010 05:42 AM)

Thanks to Michael Cox, Neal Hamilton, Bill Strang, Michael Platt, Claire Perry, and Steve Church. I met them all at the shop and we as a group filled up over 40 bags of garbage that was on our volunteer - stretch of hway on Jonesboro Rd. 7 volunteers made all the work much easier.

The day started out really nice with a beautiful sunrise. Later, the crew went out for a group ride with the Brock Brothers, Thanks again everyone for your support on this community effort.

Next cleanup will be around June. We will keep you informed.

That's right Neal, see you there shortly.

So, 7am at the bike shop and Jordan HIll upon completion of the cleanup, correct??

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/12/2010 08:29 PM)

I'm out boys and girls. I am still fighting the plague and now I have what my daughter and wife had/has on the back end. At this rate, it's looking highly probable that I will have to miss the 23rd also. Maybe I'll be better around the 16th of May!!!Yell

That would be perfect. Count me in for clean up and Jordan Hill.

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/11/2010 02:32 PM)

Steve, last time, clean up went fairly quickly.  We had enough people and the road wasn't very messy.  If I remember correctly, we were done in an hour.  If we ride promptly at 8:30, would that give you enough time to be back by 11?

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/11/2010 01:21 PM)

Do we have any idea on timing? I'd like to join to help clean up and/or ride Jordan Hill route but I need to be back in PTC by 11 am for my daughter's soccer game.

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/11/2010 12:26 PM)

Count me in.

Wink I'll break way in case I have a HOT date LOL

I'm ready to ride too! I miss my bicycle and YOU guys!

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/11/2010 12:24 PM)

JH is good for me.  I've been taking iron and eating spinach, beets, and fish all week!  I hope to ride better than last weekend, that's fo shizzle!!

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/11/2010 12:03 PM)

I talked with Chamber of Commerce. We still need to make an effort and check over that area / clean it up as that is what our volunteer status is for. I will still plan on being here early earlyl Saturday morning for trash pickup. Bring your IPODS

I'm going to cast a vote for a Jordan Hill ride after the clean up. Anyone else interested? We still need some miles and hills before the Capitol ride.

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/09/2010 08:44 PM)

The did about as good a job as you could expect from inmates. I rode through there today. Plenty of trash to pick up.

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/09/2010 10:22 AM)

Mike said yesterday that he thought the inmates had cleaned up our section of Jonesboro Road.  Any confirmation of this?

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/09/2010 06:17 AM)

I will try to be thre also

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/08/2010 02:09 PM)

We usually just bring work gloves.  Tim gets the bags and safety vests from the county.  He provides rubber gloves in case you forget to bring your work gloves.

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/08/2010 11:38 AM)

Now we're talking!!!  BTW, do we need a pickup for anything?  I will bring mine if we need it.

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/08/2010 10:55 AM)

Yes, Neal.  I'm glad you said that.  Volunteers, if the weather is nice, bring your bikes.  We can leave them in the shop during clean up, and ride afterwards.

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/08/2010 07:19 AM)

Mike and I are up in the air, we may be visiting the tax man on saturday.. :(

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/08/2010 01:35 AM)

I'm a maybe too. If we're in town I should be able to help out.

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/07/2010 10:04 AM)

If I'm better by then and I can sneak away. I'll plan on being there too.

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/07/2010 08:55 AM)

Tim,

Count me in.  I will see everyone at 7am.  Now we just need a ride afterwards!

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/07/2010 08:24 AM)

Thanks Ann, Kristi, we should be done in a couple of hours. The more volunteers we get the faster it goes.

I am sorry, I have a 5K in Forsyth that morning.  How late will you be out there?  Maybe I can come after and join in?

RE:Adopt A Hway 3/13 Volunteers (3/05/2010 10:47 AM)

I'll be there.
