Non-SCC Members must complete a ride waiver prior to participating in the group ride.
Please print and sign your waiver and bring it to the group ride. You can also email your waiver to info@bikescc.org

about our rides - Group structure
Group speed and distance varies according to the riders present and environmental conditions.
A general rule of thumb (for weeknight rides):
A Group - Advanced Riders
Speed: 19+ mph
Distance: 35+ miles
Group B - Intermediate Riders
Speed: 18-19 mph
Distance: 30-35 miles
C Group - Friendly Riders
Speed: 14-17 mph
Distance: 20-25 miles
D Group - Beginner Rides (Tuesdays only)
Speed: 5-13 mph
Distance: based on group’s comfortability, often 8-12 miles
A general rule of thumb (for weeknight rides):
A Group - Advanced Riders
Speed: 19+ mph
Distance: 35+ miles
- The A Group maintains a very high level of fitness and endurance.
- Cruising speeds are 23-27 mph on flat terrains (no tailwind or descent).
- A Group offers intense training rides with the occasional heavy sprint.
- This is a drop ride.
Group B - Intermediate Riders
Speed: 18-19 mph
Distance: 30-35 miles
- The B Group develops and practices pace lining techniques and skills.
- Cruising speeds are 19-22 mph on flat terrain.
- B Group offers a friendly, no-drop ride. It is fast-paced, so exercise caution before attempting this group.
C Group - Friendly Riders
Speed: 14-17 mph
Distance: 20-25 miles
- The C Group is a touring ride group with some pace lining. It is designed for having fun, getting some exercise, enjoying companionship and scenery, and developing skills at faster speeds.
- Cruising speeds are typically about 16 mph on flat terrain.
- C Group rides are no-drop rides. They are not for the impatient or hurried, so leave your ego at home. Courtesy and respect are the key words for this group.
D Group - Beginner Rides (Tuesdays only)
Speed: 5-13 mph
Distance: based on group’s comfortability, often 8-12 miles
- The D Group focuses on learning group dynamics, safety, bike handling, and how to handle minor mechanical problems.
- An experienced club member leads the rides to make sure all questions are answered and no one gets lost.
- D Group rides are no-drop rides. They are for new riders and those that just want to ride or learn. Speed is not a factor. The emphasis is on having fun and learning to handle your bike safely.
